Companionship
Conversation, a cuppa, shared hobbies, a walk or simply spending some quality time together.
Caldbeck • Northern Fells • Rural Cumbria
Friendly, reliable companionship and practical support for people who want to stay independent, active and connected in their own community.
Support that feels personal
Sometimes the difference between staying independent and feeling isolated is having someone trustworthy nearby. We provide unrushed companionship and everyday support tailored to the person — whether that's a trip out, help with shopping, company over lunch or simply a regular friendly face.
How we can help
Conversation, a cuppa, shared hobbies, a walk or simply spending some quality time together.
Shopping together, collecting prescriptions, posting letters and helping with everyday errands.
Accompaniment to appointments, cafés, community activities and days out, with transport where agreed.
Preparing a simple meal together, making drinks and helping keep everyday routines running smoothly.
A helping hand with letters, online appointments, video calls, phones, tablets and household admin.
Support to get out, enjoy local activities and maintain the relationships and routines that matter.
Truly local
Our aim is to support people living in and around Caldbeck and neighbouring rural communities where getting out, attending appointments or simply seeing a familiar face can be harder than it is in town.
Typical areas may include Caldbeck, Hesket Newmarket, Sebergham, Ireby, Uldale, Mungrisdale, Castle Sowerby, Westward, Rosley and nearby villages.
Availability and travel charges depend on location. Please ask — we're happy to discuss what might work.
“I don't just need a lift. I need someone I know and trust to come with me.”
That is the gap we are here to fill.
Simple pricing
Indicative launch rate for companionship and practical support.
Final pricing and terms will always be agreed before services begin.
“Mum's had a nice afternoon, we've picked up her prescription and she's safely back home.”
For sons, daughters & families
If you live some distance away, it can be difficult to know whether a parent or relative is getting out, managing everyday tasks or simply has enough company.
With the client's permission, we can provide an agreed brief update after visits so family members know how things have gone — without compromising the client's privacy or independence.
Work with us
We're building a small team of warm, reliable people who genuinely enjoy helping others stay independent and connected.
Roles may be offered on casual/zero-hours terms where appropriate. Exact employment terms, holiday entitlement, mileage and working arrangements will be confirmed in writing.
Reliability. Kindness. Patience. Common sense.
Experience is useful, but the right attitude and ability to build trust are just as important for companionship work.
